Jackie Payne, RSSA®
Credentialed Consultant, MySSAgent
"For my clients, I'm a heat-seeker for every dollar they've earned and don't yet know they're owed."
Credentials
Jackie Payne has spent her entire career inside the systems that decide whether Americans can afford to grow old well — first as a nurse, then as a Medicare broker, then as a Registered Social Security Analyst®.
She came up in clinical nursing, where a Bachelor of Nursing Science and years of patient care taught her two things she still uses every day: how to translate technical complexity into language a stressed family can actually act on, and how to recognize when a decision is permanent. In nursing, you don't get a second pass at a critical call. The same is true of Social Security claiming.
After moving from the clinical side into the insurance and benefits side of healthcare, Jackie became a licensed Medicare broker and an Affordable Care Act enrollment specialist. She watched, year after year, as people approaching retirement made decisions about Medicare, Social Security, and health coverage separately — when in practice those choices feed into each other, sometimes catastrophically.
So she got the RSSA® designation. And she built a practice around the intersection most planners step around: the place where healthcare costs, Medicare timing, ACA premiums, and Social Security claiming all collide.
That intersection is where her clients have recovered six-figure sums in benefits — including the family who learned, in our first documented case, that they had $147,000 sitting in unclaimed Social Security value because no one had ever shown them the math.
That case is why MySSAgent exists.
What Jackie Works On
The intersection of healthcare and retirement income decisions:
- •Social Security claiming optimization — when to file, how spousal and survivor strategies interact, what zero-earning years cost, the math of waiting versus claiming early
- •Medicare enrollment timing — Part B, IRMAA brackets, Medigap vs. Medicare Advantage decisions and how they affect retirement cash flow
- •ACA coverage decisions for early retirees — bridging the gap between work coverage and Medicare eligibility
- •Coordinating all three — because they don't sit in separate boxes in real life
Notable Outcomes
Lorraine
$147,000 in lifetime Social Security value recovered — first documented MySSAgent client result
Lynn
Avoided earnings-test penalties that would have permanently reduced her benefit
